March 8th is International Women’s Day and what better way to celebrate than to dive into the history of Souperb’s female founder, Joanna Terry.
Joanna comes from a family committed to feeding the hearts of friends and family with delicious, fresh food. Her grandmother, Myrtle, owned a restaurant in a small farming town where farm-to-table was a daily custom. Farmers would drop their fresh vegetables at the door of the restaurant and Myrtle would create mouth-watering dishes for the town. Joanna’s mom, Mary, learned to cook by Myrtle’s standards and taught her daughters the same fundamental approach toward cooking. Following her heart, Joanna then pursued a professional career in culinary arts and attended culinary school in San Francisco.
Chef Joanna started Souperb to bring nourishing vegetables in an easy to eat, satisfy and comforting format – soups. After a humble beginning at Farmers Markets in the San Francisco Bay Area, Souperb has since expanded and can be found in more than 100 stores, including Whole Foods and Sprouts locations. Chef Joanna is passionate about continuing in her grandmother’s tradition with Souperb.
