March 8th, 2021 marks International Women’s Day. It is a day to celebrate women and a great reminder that we should be celebrating women not only today, but all other 364 days of the year.

Souperb is a company that is inspired by, founded by and run by women. Souperb’s founder, Joanna, comes from a family committed to feeding the hearts of friends and family with delicious, fresh food. Her grandmother, Myrtle, owned a restaurant in a small farming town where farm-to-table was a daily custom. Farmers would drop their fresh vegetables at the door of the restaurant and Myrtle would create mouth-watering dishes for the town. Joanna’s mom, Mary, learned to cook by Myrtle’s standards and taught her daughters the same fundamental approach toward cooking. Following her heart, Joanna then pursued a professional career in culinary arts and attended culinary school in San Francisco.

Chef Joanna continued on to start Souperb to bring nourishing vegetables in an easy to eat, satisfy and comforting format – soups. After a humble beginning at Farmers Markets in the San Francisco Bay Area, Souperb has since expanded and can be found in more than 100 stores, including Sprouts, Pavilions and many local Bay Area grocers.
Today, Chef Joanna is passionate about continuing in her grandmother’s tradition with Souperb. Women are in numerous leadership roles throughout the business, including seats on the advisory board. Souperb is so committed and proud to being women-owned that we are adding our Women Owned Certification to the front of our soup containers.

We love to hear stories about the women in your lives that have inspired you. Celebrate them this International Women’s Day and share your story and tag us @souperbsoup!
